It is indeed a privilege and an honour to be your President yet again.  It makes me feel very humble that so many have enough faith in me, and at my age; I do sincerely hope that I have not set a precedent, and that in the future fresh blood will come forward to accept this honourable and very rewarding position.

     I thank everyone who has helped me in the last two years and promise to serve you to the best of my ability, although perhaps with not so much vigour as in 1988, together with President Elect Malcolm, Junior Deputy President Fred and the County Executive behind me I would like to think we can follow in Past President Peter’s very successful foot-prints

         I will do everything in my power to maintain Suffolk County’s GOOD name. With the camaraderie and dedication of the players we will succeed.

         Not only is 2012 a special year for me but it is also a special year for the County.  In 1912 Norfolk and Suffolk bowlers formed a Bowls Union and played their first inter-county competition, consisting of 40 singles matches played at Black Horse Green, Norwich and Wherry, Oulton Broad on 21st and 22nd August.

        We will celebrate the 100th Anniversary by holding concurrent home and away team matches between Norfolk and Suffolk at Diss and Ixworth on 4th August..
